Sleeping in Luxury from Shanghai to Chengdu

Writer and China-observer extraordinaire Sascha Matuszak has a great write-up on the China Travel Blog of his first-person account taking the new luxury sleeper ‘Harmony’ high-speed train from Shanghai to Chengdu over the recent Spring Festival Holiday.

Matuszak’s experience was so overwhelming positive that he proclaims:

“I’ll tell ya what, if China can link the whole nation with bullet trains, then I will never fly again.”

At RMB 1165 for a one-way soft sleeper ticket, the cost is similar to flying and in many cases would actually be a better deal depending on the season.

    Victor,

Thanks for recommending your books. I would love to check them out but I am having some trouble finding how to get ahold of them.

Do you have any suggestions of where I can find copies? Are they available on Amazon.com?
